These Mideer magnets turn numbers into colourful fruit and vegetable characters and put them somewhere children already stand around: the fridge. That placement is the whole idea. Rather than a structured activity an adult has to set up and pack away, number recognition, counting and sequencing happen in passing, while supper is being made or a lunchbox is being packed, which is how early numeracy actually embeds for a three-year-old.
